All these photos were taken in
mid November and show you more of the fine Calpe beaches, harbour, old town and
residential areas. Calpe combines quiet residential streets with private villas and
beachfront and town centre apartments. Click on the link if you want to see a specific

Colina
del Sol is a hilltop urbanization overlooking Calpe with some of the best views
of the coast. It is a mix of spacious villas and modern two storey bungalows with the
Costa Rica development in the centre of the picture. To
get to the Colina del Sol urbanization you turn inland at the Calpe Plaza Central shopping
centre roundabout and turn left after the tennis club following the Colina del Sol sign.
Then just follow the road to the top of the hill. This is a newly developed part of Calpe
with sunny open properties that are still close to town. enlarge |

This
photo gives an idea of the great views from Colina del Sol. The plots right at the top are
steep although the villas and pools are built at road level, usually having independent
lower apartments. A right turn off the Colina del
Sol road leads to the Garduix urban area of new luxury villas. Future plans in Calpe
envisage an extension of this area with high quality streets with street lighting and

Colina

new roads and is one of the most recently developed areas of Calpe. The municipality of
Calpe is an attractive mixture of hillside and lowland urban areas with many properties
having fine sea views. Colina del Sol gives panoramic views of the whole Mediterranean

Cucarres
is situated on the sea side of the Olta mountain with narrow winding streets and fine
ocean views from almost all the villas. The last available plots are being constructed
here and many of the older properties have been renovated or are undergoing renovation. To reach the urbanization leave Calpe on the N332 exit and take the
immediate left turn to the railway station rather than the Alicante turn. After the level

The upper
half of the Olta mountain is a green zone and the villas give way to thick pine forests
and paths that lead up to the summit. This is a Cucarres villa just on the border. The Oltamar urbanization adjoins Cucarres and offers fine views over
the coast. The access road finishes at the green zone with a picnic and children's play
area on the old agricultural terracing. enlarge |

Calpe railway
station (Estacion). As you leave Calpe by the main N332 exit go immediately left out of
the underpass and it's 500 metres up the road. The line follows a scenic route along the
coastline from Alicante to Denia and stops at every village. Cucarres and Estacion proprietors find it useful for Alicante shopping trips although don't expect
to get there at high speed. Now it is more of a touristic feature offering fine views of
the Mediterranean coastline. enlarge |

Estacion is a
small urbanization right beside the station with some of Calpe's original property. The
surrounding area down to the N332 is rustic land made up of olive, almond and vineyard
terraces that is planned for development but which is unlikely to happen soon due to very
divided ownership of the small plots. Rural roads connect the area with it's ocasional
fincas and agricultural buildings. A commercial area is located beside the N332 with a
notable installation being the Euronautica building. enlarge |

Oltamar villas are situated on
the wooded Olta hillside with panoramic views over the Mediterranean Costa Blanca
coastline. The Oltamar urbanization continues on
into Benissa and is reached by following the road passed Calpe station and the level
