Puerto Blanco ***** This is probably one of the best restaurants in Calpe situated next to the small harbour of La Canuta. Follow sign for Mar y villa (Maryvilla), turn right on small roundabout opposite Guardia follow road down hill for 1k located at sharp rightbend with harbour in front. - Tel: 965830977
Casa del Maco ***** This too is an extremely good restaurant, in summer on the terrace the most magnificent view towards Calpe. Set in the hills above Calpe Pou Roig-Lleus, follow road N332 towards Benissa after small garden centre on left and just before bridge with a left gradient turn, turn left up a small single track road continue for 2k and you will see signs well worth the effort. - Tel: 965732842
San Marco **** A fine Italian restaurant with good inside seating in winter and a lovely courtyard in summer. Live piano music some nights, try the home made pasta it's wonderful authentic Italian. Located on the Calpe - Moraira coast road Km1 on the left with it's own car parking opposite. - Tel: 965832805

La Viña de Calpe This is a lovely olde-worlde type restaurant with attentive staff you get good Spanish and European cooking here and a parrot to keep you company. A good bar to take pre dinner drinks and study the extensive menu. Found on the right side of the Merced road, keeping the Hotel Esmeralda to your back. Take the road with all the red & white speed bumps 500 mts on the right. - Tel: 965830955
La Regata To be found on the Levante/ La Fosa beach back towards the sea 100mts to the right of hotel Esmeralda. Next door to Fox's bar, this restaurant has "Bouillabaisse" speciality if you like sea fish try it otherwise a good menu to choose from. Open lunchtimes and evenings views of Peñon. - Tel: 965833251
Restaurante Maryvilla This professionaly run establishment offers European style cooking with flavours from the orient and Germany. Good quality food served in nice surroundings this restaurant is listed in the Gourmet Guide and is worth a visit. Located in the heart of Maryvilla good views. - Tel: 965834959
Oscars Named after the owner and his son this restaurant is only open through the summer months, such a shame as this has excellent food served by Oscar and his attentive staff. So pay him a visit from march through October inside or out seating is comfortable. Located on Maryvilla. - Tel: 965832016
La Plaza Situated in the heart of the old town of Calpe opposite the church this restaurant is Swiss owned with Swiss/French style cooking in good ambience surroundings. The chef here is always immaculately dressed with his tall chef's hat in attendance. Small but nice and intimate. - Tel: 965830347
Los Dos Cañones Be careful how you pronounce this Spanish word as replace the ñ with a j and you could be insulting someone. Apart from that this is a typical good Spanish restaurant where you will be warmly greeted by the owner and served some good wholesome cooking. In the old town. - Tel: 95837492
Cambalache The first Argentinian restaurant in Calpe tucked away up a back street but still easy to find, directly in the street behind bar Calpe with the original gents hairdressers on the corner walk up this street and take the first left and you will fall upon Cambalache the most tenderest steaks that I have ever eaten. Ask for extra vegetables though otherwise is just steak and potatoes. - Tel: 9558332702
Taberna Antigua Again still in the old town not far from one of the museums in Calle del Mar this German restaurant has delicious food served in a small intimate cellar. Good service service with home cooking at it's best. German style with international flavours must for a different night out. - Tel: 965838212
Pizzeria Campanari This is mainly a summer street and terrace eatery but I've mentioned it because it has a certain reputation in Calpe. In winter it's small inside but worth booking just for the homemade rolls. Heated by the pizza oven so it's warm in winter. - Tel: 965833231
Rincón de Calpe Tucked away up a back street, walk past Barclays bank take 2nd on left you will then see the restaurant on the right hand side. A truly Spanish bar and restaurant with traditional Spanish dishes. Real Spanish décor bottles of wine suspended from the ceiling, wall picture tiles. - Tel: 965832460
La Cambra Next door to the pub Delfin in the street of the same name this restaurant go-upstairs is the main dining area with a bar eating area down-stairs. This has good food and is served well but every time I have been it has not been busy. I supposes it's because it's up-stairs but I like the food. - Tel: 965830605
Casa Rolanda The owners have been in Calpe for nearly 20 years and really do have the most wonderful home cooking, mainly German style but because of their time here it's more Mediteranean. They also grow most of their own vegetables used in the restaurant. Again a cosy intimate feel, warm. - Tel: 965831052
El Dicho One street across from Calle Jardin same street as the Cross Keys this restaurant has some really good cooking. The food is much better than the surroundings although to be fair the tables and chairs are bistro style and new but, the food is excellent and the quality and choice you'll find hard to beat in Calpe. The owner who is Dutch and his wife who is the chef are proud of the quality of their food and so they should be. Better location in winter than summer but a must whenever you are here. - Tel: 965839524
Antic Roma Nearly next door to the above but on the corner a large airy Italian restaurant with good food all-round. The prices here are remarkably low for the quality served, ask for the house wine they normally give you a really good Italian if you ask. Excellent food and prices. - Tel: 965874054
Porque No Why not, why not indeed this Dutch owned and operated restaurant has a good feel about the place and the food is to a high standard. In winter a warm and bright restaurant in summer they share the patio outside with another restaurant good all-round quality and service. Calle Jardin. - Tel: 965838737
Bressumer This is the other restaurant that Porque-No shares it's patio with in summer both are in the pedestrian walkway known as Calle Jardin, Street of the Garden although not much sign of the gardens. Food here again is Dutch like all Dutch they know how to cook and speak perfect English. - Tel: 965874019
Steakhouse Calpe Same street next door to above this German owned restaurant is completely booked every night so please do telephone and make a reservation as with all our recommended restaurants they do get busy because they are good so please do book. The speciality of the house here is goose highly recommended. Go here even if it's just for the goose you will not be disappointed. - Tel: 965836610
Carrousel This restaurant has recently moved to a brand new restaurant just around the corner from the old one. Really good food here, exceptional I would use, but unfortunately they did not change the chairs from their old restaurant they used the old Spanish type with straight up backs not the best position to enjoy a good meal. Never-the-less the food here is exceptional for the price. - Tel: 965835701
La Brisa Another good restaurant with good food and the chef and owner here are always greeting you as long lost friends. My only complaint here is that I feel for Calpe their prices are on the high side and as such obviously I attend less frequently. But their food is good with average surroundings. Located on the dry riverbed street known as Calle La Niña just 50m from the water fountain. - Tel: 965836063
Casita Suiza Situated in Calle Jardin you can't miss this one a Swiss wooden chalet frontage impressive for a restaurant, inside the theme is carried forward. A nice all-round restaurant with good food reasonably priced and good service. Again booking is essential fondues if you like. - Tel: 965830606
Colour & Spice Tucked away in Calle Joan de Garay this Indian restaurant has fine fittings and reasonable food at reasonable prices. Service on our visit was rather slow but then again the restaurant is quite big and it's relatively new so hopefully the service although efficient will improve. - Tel: 965839046
La Fosa As the name suggests La Fosa is on the beach promenade with the same name, next door to Fox's bar. Here a large restaurant is good for "menu del dia" that includes the wine. Don't fall for the old trick and think that the wine already on the table when you arrive is the house wine, it's not and is expensive here. So be warned drink the house wine with the menu del dia, and enjoy it !!!!!!!!!! - Tel: 965835324
La Loncheria This is actually the last restaurant on the promenade at La Fosa. A bistro style restaurant with daily specials on a blackboard. Worth a visit if only for the waiters and waitresses but truly the food is good and the service is spot on. The house wines are extremely drinkable here. - Tel: 965833858
Mistral Located on the approach road to the hotel Esmeralda in the block Aquarium Park this Belgian restaurant offers the most giant sized portions heaped with fresh vegetables. Busy lunchtimes and evenings you must book here if you want to eat. A delightful if rather small little restaurant. - Tel: 965834672
Terracota This is an English style restaurant with truly good wholesome cooked English fare. Dave waits on and his wife Julie is the chef. You will be made welcome here but it is small so places are limited so again book this one in advance. In the same building block as the Mistral about 200m from the Hotel Esmeralda. This is the only English restaurant that I mention because I don't visit the other two which are in the old town of Calpe. For a good table here in this cosy restaurant. - Tel: 965831205
