These photos were taken at the end of January and show you more of Benissa and it's urban areas with it's coastline of cliffs and rocky bays and low lying hills. Benissa combines quiet residential streets with private villas and a historic old town. Click on the link if you want to see a specific urbanization.

Urbanization Altamira adjoins Calpe and combines old an new properties on rolling hills only a few minutes drive from the coast. The Altamira bungalow development is situated here although most of the area is made up of quiet villa lined streets. There is a local supermarket a few minutes away at La Fustera on the Calpe - Moraira coast road. The cabinet on the street in the photo is a "casita de gas", gas house used to hold large central heating gas bottles. enlarge

Urbanization La Fustera is beside Altamira and joins the sea at the Cala and beach of La Fustera. In the background the first promontary is Cap Blanc of Moraira -Teulada and the second is the Cap d'Or beside El Portet. You can just see the 16th century Cap d'Or watchtower used to warn against Barbary pirates. Benissa's La Fustera beach is a short distance down from the coast road and is popular with the locals. The La Fustera supermarket open all year is nearby. enlarge

Calle Arbercoquer is a street off the Avenida de los Garcias which is the main street that connects La Fustera and leads up to Pedramala. Many of the villas here have kept the original algorobo trees from typical old Benissa agricultural terracing. enlarge

Urbanization Los Bancales, is higher up the hillside towards Pedramala with sea views. Most of the villas date from the 1970's are built on the original agricultural terraces (bancales). A nearby new development is Urbanization Magraner.  enlarge
