These photos were taken in February and show you more of Altea and it's urban areas with it's attractive hill top old town and new Altea Hills urbanization and Luis Campomanes sports harbour. Altea comprises of sunny hill side urbanizations on the east side of the town with a long curving bay lined with low rise beachfront apartments. Altea la Vieja (Altea la Vella) is an attractive traditional Spanish village on the Callosa d'en Sarria road with it's own small town square and church. It was the original village of Altea until Moorish times when the new town was founded on it's present location but it still has it's own fiestas with the Three Kings in January and the Santisimo Cristo de la Salud in February. It is surrounded by open fields and is only a few minutes away from the the Don Cayo Golf Club. enlarge

The Don Cayo Golf Club is regarded as one of the best on the Costa Blanca, being a well kept 3.078 metres, 9 holes and par 36. The Club House overlooks the course with the photo being taken from the terrace and provides complete facilities coaching, equipment hire etc. To get there take the motorway turning on the Calpe side of Altea and turn off right just before the toll booths. After 1 km take the road to the right signed for Don Cayo and Urbanization Sierra de Altea.  enlarge

Urbanization Sierra de Altea is located beside Don Cayo Golf and the photo shows Sierra de Altea villas around the Don Cayo Club House. The area features wide shady residential streets and is considered as one of the best residential areas in Altea with is large villas and close proximity to the golf, Altea la Vella village and the coast. The properties in the higher part of the urbanization adjoin Urlisa I and urbanization Galera de las Palmeras. enlarge

Urbanization Galera de las Palmeras has a direct entry on the right from the N332 after the Altea Hills entrance. It is another of Altea's original urbanizations with the road leading up to a sunny hillside with old and new property and fine sea views.  enlarge

Urbanization Galera del Mar is located beside the sea after the turn off to Mascarat. Lush gardens filled with palm trees combine with smaller bungalow style villas that feature roof terraces and traditional Spanish style construction. The urbanization is ideally located for access to Altea, Luis Campomanes Sports Harbour, Don Cayo Golf and Calpe. Older properties here are for renovation and can represent very good value. enlarge
